A Public Domain Happy Birthday Song

Published December 28, 2012

Did you know that the "Happy Birthday" song with which we are all familiar is actually copyrighted? I didn't know this until recently! This explains why TV programs, movies, and restaurant establishments avoid playing the song! To that end, I wrote a happy birthday song that I will dedicate to the public domain, so that anyone can use it for any reason and do whatever they want with it!

Lyrics:
I want to wish you a happy birthday,
I want to wish you a happy birthday,
I want to wish you a happy birthday,
a happy birthday to YOU!

Nota bene: Feel free to change "YOU" to the name of the person whose birthday it is, e.g. "a happy birthday to John/Sara/Mike/Jill/Bobby/etc."

UPDATE 2014-09-07: Added version where a vocaloid named MEIKO is singing instead of I!
